Nexus 10 2nd Gen on the way?
According to Wall Street Journal reporter, Amir Efrati, the Head of Google Chrome/Android, Sundar Pichai, has leaked information pertaining to a next generation Nexus 10, manufactured by Samsung. If, however, Sundar provided Efrati with more details, he prefers being lax about it.
In his Tweet, Efrati tell us to:
“Expect to see new 10-inch Nexus 10 Android tablet (made by @Samsung) in the near future, Google’s @sundarpichai tells me.”
Last year, the Nexus 10 was released alongside the Nexus 4, with a never before seen 2560×1600 display, that left other OEMs drooling. This really gets us wondering, what could they improve this time?
The Next Nexus 10 is more than likely to be made by Samsung, as they made the first gen. Google have followed suit with the Nexus 7 and kept the same manufacturer and I wouldn’t expect Google to let Samsung down and not source from them. Also the new Nexus 7 is immanent so it shouldn’t be too long before the next Nexus 10 is released.
The first Nexus 10 came just months after the release of the Nexus 7, so I would be surprised if Google left it longer than this between releasing the 2nd Gen Nexus 7 and releasing the new Nexus 10 2nd gen.
I also personally think that Samsung did a good job with the Nexus 10, but I do think its a little biased to be using their competition to produce their tablets, considering Samsung have their own range of tablets, perhaps Google should look elsewhere instead of lining the pockets of its competition.
We’ll keep all our readers updated on the progress of the Nexus 10, and ofcourse the release, specs and pricing of the Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 alike.
Do you think Samsung should manufacture this year’s Nexus 10? Or do you think that another manufacturer should be given a chance? Let us know in the comments below:
