New Nexus 7 (Rumored):
Google I/O is just days away. So that means we’re going to be seeing a ton of rumors, leaks and reports all weekend and into next week regarding Google I/O. This latest report is coming from VR-Zone where they are reporting on a few specs of the next-generation Nexus 7. This comes just days after the report of the second generation device “New Nexus 7″ sporting a Snapdragon S4 Pro, a 1920×1200 resolution display and a smaller battery. Thats right folks, Google have been real creative and named it “New Nexus 7″.
VR-Zone is reporting that Google and ASUS are working on the new Nexus 7 tablet and it’ll be unveiled at Google I/O. Which is about what we expected. Now the interesting thing here is that it’s reported Google and ASUS are ditching NVIDIA and their Tegra for the Snapdragon 800 by Qualcomm. The Snapdragon 800 isn’t even available to OEMs yet, and it’s not supposed to be in devices until Q3 2013. So I’m not sure I can believe this rumor. But it appears that the Tegra 4 was skipped for the New Nexus 7 due to its high costs.
Additionally, VR-Zone is reporting that the new Nexus 7 will have a 1080p full HD display, which we kinda expected and has been part of every rumor about the Nexus 7 specs. Either way we’ll find out on Wednesday during Google’s keynote from Moscone West in San Francisco. It’s definitely going to be an exciting next few days leading up to Google I/O.
How many of you would rather see a Snapdragon 800 CPU in the new Nexus 7 instead of the Snapdragon S4 Pro which was rumored earlier this week? I’d definitely rather have the Snapdragon 800 or the Tegra 4 over the Snapdragon S4 Pro – which is the same chip in the Nexus 4. Let us know in the comments down below what you think of these rumors.
